With deep regret, the Memorials Foundation and the Heritage Association announce that Keith W. Murray of Waxahachie, TX, left formation last night, 27 September 2015. Keith was a 335th bombardier. Folded wings.

Keith was a member of the original cadre of the 95th Bomb Group, beginning his tour with mission #2 to Antwerp, Belgium, on 14 May 1943. He suffered an eye wound on an early raid that put him in the hospital. He later resumed flying. In September 1943, Keith’s ship was shot down during a mission to Stuttgart. With fierce determination and resilience, he evaded capture, traveling successfully through the Pyrenees on foot. Keith’s good friend Rob Morris has summed him up best, calling Keith “the toughest man on the planet.”

Keith was immensely proud of his group and regularly attended reunions. He and his beloved daughter Pennie were staples on the dance floor and always made dancing look easy. He also had a great sense of fashion, reminding us that real men wear pink.

For all the above and so much more, Keith will be remembered always.
